Stress of the Leitch

So I had to teach in Elder's Quorum today in Church...

It was a very stressful 4 weeks seeing that I had that long to prepare.

I was so stressed out this morning I was dry heaving, Yeah I know what can I say..

5 minutes before I was to teach I was just about to pass out... I was so freaking stressed out... I got up and Well I understand I did a great job...

So I came home and Had A nice nap, got up 4 hours later and emailed our President, and said home you can forgive me for the left field lesson...

This is what he wrote back....

Hi Scott,

Thank you so much for your lesson - it was great. No forgiveness necessary. You did a great job and I'm grateful for your service. Thanks for sharing your personal experiences, and, on the side, for feeding the quorum (not to mention the rest of the ward).

There was nothing inappropriate in your lesson whatsoever. My dad used to regularly show Star Wars as part of one of his lessons, and I showed Groundhog Day in one of mine. There are also parts of the Matrix that I'd find appropriate to show in some lessons, as well as The Mission and New York Doll. In that company, Les Mis approaches Saturday's Warrior.

You're a valuable part of our ward and quorum and, again, I'm grateful that you were willing to extend yourself and share your thoughts and feelings with us.

I hope that we can use you sooner than 6 months from now - I appreciate any teacher who wants to start preparing 4 weeks in advance.

Thanks Scott!
Dan

WOW that is very nice and I am so glad I have the support...

Now here's to the next stressful projects this week I have in my life...

Good job, Scott. Stressing over an assignment gives you the push you need to really prepare well, and you did.

I know how tough it is to a lesson, or a talk, in church...but great to do it anyway! Love, Tim
