Quick Update For August!

Knee has been doing good.

Broke a tooth tonight Eatting Kidd Valley... LOL I just texted Ben a minute before that and said I missed him and that he needed to be here... and I bit down on my mushroom and broke a tooth.. see Ben was getting back at me for saying I went to Kidd Valley and that he is 3000 miles away from one of his favorite places... LOL

Garden is doing great, you should see the cabbages I have been getting out of the garden! WOW!

On sunday I had my recommend interview with President Thatcher and he said I was glowing!! HE said you know something SCOTT your glowing the spirit of the Savior in you!!!.

So I have to write about the Sunday I missed CHURCH... Well my Ward anyway... Lane said in one of his texts.."I have to tell you what Mallory said after church: "Where's Scott...do you know where scott is daddy?" and it was way more than once."

See after church on sunday if the kids are good I give them dumm dumms.. (SUCKERS) and they love them... so I make sure I have my church bag stocked.

Jake DeBell said to me this Last Sunday ... "Where is Scott Hiding".

I sure hope I make some kind of a impression on these KIDS I love having so many Nieces and Nephews looking up to me!!!

So I am still on a high so if I repeat myself you will understand.

sometimes its being at the right place at the right time.

Elder Oaks made a few comments that 100 years ago that satan attacked the book of mormon and that he attacked Joshep Smith. Today he said he is no longer attacking them.. He is attacking the family!

The Family Unit is under attacked now. He made comment that marriages are under attack, Children being born to unwed women, and sexual party. and the Purpose of marriage.
and Satan has moved his troops to the attacked of family!

Elder Oaks talked about Missionary work
Sharing the Gospel.
He had everyone that was a full time missionary stand up... then Ward missionaries stand, and then he said these are a small number and then made everyone stand and say are we all not to be missionaries.
GIving points on how to be effect member missionary,
1. Talk to people about religion.
2. Bearing of a testimoney
3. Readings Materials, such as a story you read or reading of a book, or an article.
4. Invite to church, CHurch tour or temple grounds


He told of a story of a christen family that was a minister in his church and for years they worked with family members and others helping the poor and the sick and just being an all around good person....the family lived across the street from the stake president and notice his lifestyle, and the stake presdient just invited them one day, and they came, as the lady was sitting next to the water of baptism, after being baptized, she said she did not feel anything different...until the stake president placed his hands on her head and conformed her a member of the church and gift of the holy ghost... she said it was as if a good friend had comeback to her to stay.

He said that we should also have 2 things. Holy habits and Rightous routines.
Holy Habits , Daily prayer, family prayers, scripture studies, attending sacrament meetings and all meetings.
Rightous routines.. ID your weakness
he gave example of when he was a lawyer and one of his co-workers were a smoker and said he wanted to stop and everytime he walked by the smokers the smell of the smoke he would crave. so Elder Oaks said... STOP walking by the smokers...HE also made comment of a drinker and how the smell of beer is just aweful and he commented to the drinker stop going to places or doing things with friends that cause you to want to drink...
SO more or less ID your weakness.... and STOP them.


HE said Yes he is a General Authority of the Church so he only answers General Questions. and that if you have other question we should be asking the Lord and that scripture study will help with those questions...

My Weekend....

I had the best weekend ever and I woould owe the biggest Thank you to Auntie Wes who mad it possible.

A few weeks ago Weslene called me and said Guess what? I was like what... we are having Stake Conference In August and Elder Oaks is coming... I said right away WE have to cook for him.

Well The Stake President... The one sitting lives across the street from Auntie Wes and Is Weslene and Mike's Home teacher and good friends and well Auntie Wes talked to Marsha, the stake Presidents wife and SAID PLease leave us help you with food.....

WELL she said yes and we have been planning this for a little while and we came up with the best dinner ever!!!!

Everyone that knows me I make a mean STEAK.... and When I have these steaks everyone wants to be invited because well it's Steak.... and we came up with this very simple menu...

Flank Steaks
Oven Roasted Red Potatoes with mushrooms and Onions.
A Nice Salad
and A mixed berry cobbler...also one of the things that I am mastering right now.

any way We got to serve Elder Oaks.
Elder Oaks is the one next to Auntie Wes standing... the fat one is me standing on the other side of her... Just incase no one know who Elder Oaks is ... Dallan H Oaks is an Apostle for our Church.

Afew wonderful things that I remembering right now.. He was so personalble.. he shook everyone's had, he was such a down to earth guy. He told stories and jokes as we were serving him dinner. He laught when I said after he ate and said how great it was he Laught when I said well it was not Ham and funeral potatoes. (another one of those inside Jokes if your a mormon.)

He Said it was the best stake Conference dinner he had, had. Thank you WESLENE>!!!!!

I was able to go to conference and listen to him speak and the powerful messages he said. a few things that (there might be to parts because I took my pill and getting tired!)
He talked about 5 things husbandsso say to their wives..
1. I love you
2. I am Sorry
3. Yes Dear.
4. You look good in that,
5. WE cant afford that/it.


He gave the list and a woman came up after wards and said here are 2 other things he said was Let's go out to eat and You were right

He talked about the Single Sisters or the WIdow sister in wards and stakes. That they must 1st put all there fait in the savior and prepare time, the love of the lord more than the love of me.
HEl talked about Helamen 5:12 and family and family callings.
He talked about his widow mother who yes she was left a widow but still had to work and LIVE! she also did not turn down a church calling because she had to take care of her children.
HE made comment that this is a very important thing to do is to have a calling in those darkest hours.

He talked about needing Senior Missionaire Couples. he said there should be about 9000 out but only 4500 are outs its because there 401K went to a 201K.. (LAUGH)

Told about a Missionarie Shumway who was a missionary in Tonga and when these missionaries can in to eat that night there seem to be missing some of there ducks and when he sat down to eat he was givine one of the duck..while the other sat there to watch there ducks be eatten by this missionary,..and how these children watch the missionaires eat.
a few year later the Elder Oaks were at a Tonga Dinner/fireside and reading this story this missionary wrote and he looked at the message of the elder wrote and looked at the stake president and this is your name.. are you this person... and the tonga go up and sai that was my father. We learned a great example that night.

He talked about Parent and children.

He was talking to me, with being single and the hurt and Pain My sister must be going thtough being a widow.. but his councle was so powerful. TO keep living.

That was saturday night conference... I will write more later... I am on a hight but I took my pill and need to sleep.

Where did the year go???? ok I will make it a fast update seeing that Everyone is behind as well in updating blogs....

about 3 weeks ago, I started to get a pain in the Knee again and I was thinking Oh it's nothing.. well this is the same knee that I had surgery on back in march.. SURE enough, it started to swell on me and giving me a little more pain.. so off to the dr I went.. the first thing he asked is WHAT did you do... WELL I went and climbed the highest mt... that is what I did.. come on... REALLY do you think I can make it out of bed each morning with out doing something to make me hurt..

so on Thursday I am off for another MRI where they will dye the tissue so that they can tell better of what is going on... with that being said... I might have to have yet another surgery on my knee.


But besides that.. I dont know what else to say... Life is boring around the Leitch home right now...

DO have to tell a story....

So I have been working very well with yevette the new floral manager and we so can laugh... its fun just to laugh with her...
Yesterday I went in to help her pressure wash the sidewalk in front of the store... here comes the funniest part.. we had turned off the pressure washer and was taking a break and she said lets finish and I was not thinking... and I turned the pressure washer back on and she did not have the hose in her hand yet... and it was like a snake going out of controll... it was so funny.... I quickly turned the washer off to get a hold of the hose... LAUGH.. OH my was it funny... might have been to funny because I had a little accident!!!!

That's my life!!!!
